Where there are school buses, there are usually children. Children are likely to do something unexpected, so be prepared. Under Alaska law, when you come to a school bus that has stopped with flashing red lights and an extended stop arm on an undivided roadway, you must stop at least 30 feet from the bus. You must remain stopped until either the bus driver signals you to proceed or the red lights stop flashing, the stop arm is retracted, and the bus resumes its motion.
